July 14th,Bastille Day Harrow 2012

July 14th is Bastille Day(a French National Holiday)- a day of Rebellion and Liberation! Harrow Arts Centre, by pure coincidence this year, organised a Family Fun Day for 14th July!!! Harrow Writers Circle were one of the organisations who took part, and we liberated the minds of some of the children and adults who atttended our workshops. Amanda Benbelaid, assisted by other members of the HWC (Harrow Writers Circle), showed that everyone is a poet, and that anyone can write a poem. She persuaded both children and parents to release the poet within, and the results surprised even those who had "written what they had written."

  1. I will comment further on what I think was a magnificent day for HWC. "We did ourselves proud."

It's great to see Harrow Writers' Circle branching out and doing all these wonderful things.

  3. Amanda did us all very proud - the parents and children loved the informal atmosphere where they could unleash their creativity without any rules - The work they produced was awesome.Furthermore the parents asked for more sessions like this..... Amynah Bhanji
